Launch Items X v1.1.1

- Launch Items is an easy-to-use contextual menu plug-in which allows one to launch customized applications or open documents with customized applications. It has a graphic user interface called Launch Items Editor where users can add any applications to the menu of Launch Items. [When coupled with the power of AppleScript, this offers a very convenient way to launch scripts and allow them to act upon selected files (only tested the OS 9 version). This might be a good OS X replacement for FinderPop, which will be sorely missed when I finally move to OS X.]

WeatherMan and AppleScript create dynamic web pages

I use the subscription feature of Internet Explorer to monitor various web sites for news and updates. This morning, the WeatherMan page caught IE's attention and revealed a dynamic weather report which was generated by WeatherMan and AppleScript. Cool!

OmniGraffle v2.0.3

- OmniGraffle helps you draw beautiful diagrams, family trees, flow charts, org charts, layouts, and other directed or non-directed graphs. Version changes: Line weights for autolayout. iPhoto, Mail and Multiple Users

- Reports indicate that the Mail feature in iPhoto only works correctly for the first user to login at startup. When a second user logs in, only the names of photos are inserted into a new Mail message, and not the photos themselves. Apple has reportedly responded that they are now aware of the problem and are working to correct it, and recommend using the mail photo AppleScript until an iPhoto update is released. This is interesting in light of the fact that, as found with iPhoto Mailer Patcher, the Mail feature in iPhoto is itself powered by a AppleScript in the iPhoto bundle. [MacScripter.net]
