The Little Page of AppleScripts

The Little Page of AppleScripts has made available several new AppleScript libraries. Among the lineup:
• ASLoader: A dynamic library-loading module
• PListLib: A vanilla plist parser/generator
• XParserLib: A basic XML/XHTML parsing library
• XTemplateLib: A new XHTML templating library

ResExcellence: iCan Giveaway

Kanzu Utilities has agreed to giveaway ten copies of their OS X interface enhancement software, iCan. iCan is a scriptable, customizable trashcan for OS X desktops for those who still miss the one in OS 9. The contest runs February 10 - 15.

PTHiTunesNotifier 2.3

PTHiTunesNotifier uses AppleScript to display the currently playing iTunes track in an overlay window. It also allows users to control iTunes from the menu bar and via hot keys. It requires OS X 10.2 or later. This version includes various enhancements and new features which include Japanese localization.

DownTimer

Downtimer uses a mix of OS X tools, including AppleScript, to automatically shut down a Mac at a sheduled time. It was created with parental control in mind. Boy, I wish my parents would have used computers to control me. Alas, I was frequently the recipient of a good ol' whippin' when it was determined that I needed 'guidance'. -- Rob

Mac OS X Hints: Add an image size information feature to Safari
