QUOTE OF THE DAY

- - Chant sung by protesters at last weekend's San Francisco peace event
RHINO HERE:
Okay, so a few of the chants and signs of the protesters at the peace events
in Washington & San Francisco last weekend could be considered by some to be
in poor taste. One sign that comes to mind read:
"HAVE SOME MORE PRETZELS (FUCKER)"
But mostly is was 200,000 Americans in W.D.C. and 100,000 in S.F. of all
ages, colors, religions and professions that went into the streets to say...
well, a lot of things on the theme of PEACE.
Below the blog line I've compiled a list of the messages seen on signs and
in the chants of these patriotic citizens. Most are sincere and loving. For
those that aren't, remember the old saying, "If you don't have a sense of
humor about it, its not very funny", and that goes for political movements
as well as life in general. A New York Times article of October 30 on the

What's likely to be a meeting of many core anti-war activism organizations
is the upcoming 3 day protest, November 15th through the 17th at the Western
Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHISC). As the common Dreams
article linked below states, "Located near Fort Benning, Georgia, WHISC has
trained over 60,000 Latin American soldiers in the most heinous of
counter-insurgency warfare techniques, and its graduates have gone on to
comprise a bloody who's who of coups, chaos and destruction."
