QUOTE OF THE DAY "If we want world peace, we must live like nomads. That's where I no mad at you, you no mad at me. That way, there'll be nomadness on the planet. And peace begins with each of us. A little peace here, a little peace there, pretty soon all the peaces fit together to make one big peace everywhere." - - Swami Beyondananda :) RHINO HERE: Rough couple weeks. Loosing Senator Paul. Brused & beaten Democrats. Ug. The movie "Skins" opens in a few more cities this weekend and a few more each of the next few weekends. "Skins" stars Graham Green, the only Native American actor to receive an Oscar nomination and was helmed by Chris Eyre, the only Native director who's had successful box office ($7 million on "Smoke Signals"). Gives a gritty real feel of life on the reservation and spins a fine yarn of two brothers living very different lives. The link below is to a letter from Chris and a list of cities with opening dates. Lalo Alcaraz is a syndicated cartoonist I found at Indianz.com http://www.indianz.com He looses his satirical wit on anyone he sees fit, with shrub & company being a prominent target in these days of corporate pirates and military con games. I've listed links below to some of my favorite of his cartoons, as well as links to his bio and other related information. One of Lalo's strips entitled "La Cucaracha"... http://www.lacucaracha.com ...has run in the L.A. Weekly since '92 and debuted recently in newspapers nationwide thanks to Universal Press Syndicate, home of The Boondocks and Doonesbury. Lalo's satirical "Raza" attitude in "La Cucaracha" will be the 1st nationally syndicated daily Latino political comic strip. If you like, encourage your local paper to pick up La Cucaracha or Email Lalo at: cuco@pocho.com LALO ALCARAZ'S BIO http://www.cartoonista.com/about/about.html BOSTON GLOBE ARTICLE ON LALO, 7/3/01 http://www.cartoonista.com/about/article.bostonglobe.html The following 3 cartoons are from ucomics.com... http://www.ucomics.com ...where you can sign up to get Lalo's latest strip emailed to you daily, and/or you can cruise his archives by calendar date: SHRUB'S DOMESTIC PLANS http://www.ucomics.com/laloalcaraz/2002/10/30/
