News in FastCGI land

FastCGI/TCL for Windows:

I've gotten the tcl version working just fine on Windows, but the pure tcl version doesn't support dynamic creation of interpreters -- you have to prelaunch and monitor your interps 'by hand'. Letting either Apache or IIS do this for you is the only realistic way to deploy something like OpenACS via FastCGI.

In related news, the FastCGI project has suffered somewhat from an less than available maintainer, and other devotees are now stepping in to figure out how they can pick up the slack.

Aaah, Open Source. Kudos to OpenMarket for being one of the first companies to embrace it.
