Today someone was asking about recommendations for a book on testing. There were the usual responses (Testing Computer Software(which seems to be a favorte inside MS), Brian Marick's book, etc.) but I noticed that the person asking the question was an intern. This led to my recommendation: Software Testing by Ron Patton. In my opinion this is a great book for someone new to testing. It covers the essential areas that testers need to know about and for each points out important things that testers need to be aware of. Recommended.
