I've roasted my first coffee beans in the last few days.  I love it!  The green beans can be cheaper than beans from the store (ranging from $5-$15 per pound), and they are generally better quality.  Roasting a 1/2 cup of beans takes about 10 minutes including set up and tear down.  The next morning, you grind just the amount you need and brew it up.

The coffee tastes fabulous.  There are good pre-roasted coffees that I really like, but there is something about the aroma of fresh-roasted beans.  And grinding just before brewing fills the kitchen with wonderful scents.

Of course, you can still screw up the brewing (which I've done twice - not enough grounds for my french press this morning; weak but tasty coffee).

Go Go Wireless, Go Go

I installed two wireless routers this weekend.  One at Teresa's organization, Common Ground (incredibly outdated web site), and one at home.  Teresa's laptop now gets broadband while untethered at work and home!  Excellent!

I bought the Siemens Speedstream Wireless DSL/Cable RouterAmazon/CircuitCity is having a rebate, so you buy it for $169 and get $30 back.  Easy set up and powerful.
