Review the Eldred argument transcriptEldred Transcript Transcript of ERIC ELDRED, ET AL., Petitioners v. JOHN D. ASHCROFT, ATTORNEY GENERAL, No. 01-618, SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES "Mr. Chief Justice, may it please the Court" Thanks to Aaron Swartz for the link to the Eldred transcript! It is quite a fascinating read. I was most interested in Solicitor General Olsen bantering on about distribution and how, if works were not under copyright, then those works would not be disseminated. On the contrary, it seems to be that works are more widely disseminated when they are in the public domain. (See cf. the Bible, Shakespeare, and Ben Jonson). [ statonBlog] 4:44:50 PM [Permanent Link]
