PHP Help Requested

Nothing big but if anyone has a link to a good tutorial / set of routines for managing query string variables, I'm finding that I'm pushing the limits with the introduction of personalized Feedster preferences.  My current solution reminds me a bit of cheap ass duct tape with rusty baling wire holding up a person dangling over a cliff.  Sure it'll hold and you can always apply more duct tape / wire but is that the right approach ?

And on a positive note, I implemented the new Preferences page using Smarty.  I know that Kalsey recommended another approach but I already had Smarty installed and I've appreciated too much of Andrei's good work over the years to not give it a shot.

Question: What Aggregators Do I Test Feedster With ?

I'm gearing for rewriting the RSS output of Feedster and doing the Feedster Images RSS feed and this time I desperately want this right.  So what aggregators should I use to test ?  Obviously Net New Wire, Radio, AmphetaDesk and the Cincom aggregator but what others are people using.  I even have a freshly installed version of XP with the .NET libraries for testing .NET based aggregators.

And if you have the download URLs handy or website to get them, that would be good.  Thanks in advance.

When IM Clients Clash

Jeremy IM'd me the other day and we saw "The Clash of the IM Clients".  He was using Yahoo IM on Linux and I was using (the absolutely bloody wonderful) Gaim.  This was the result.

I Feel Like Dr. Evil Today

No, no, no.  I'm not sitting in my evil base with my pinky to my teeth saying "Indexing your blogs will cost 1,000,000 dollars".  Trust me, its not that.

But once again I find myself without hot water.  I just want to grab my landlord by her (less than thin) neck and shout "All I want is some frickin' hot water.  Is that so much to ask?  Just some frickin' hot water". 

Sharks to swim in the hot water are, of course, optional.

Comment: Output is sporadic today.  I spent most of the past 24 hours unknowingly fighting low level php seg faults that I was blaming on my own mistakes.  Not.  Need to recover from those, deal with meetings and make progress on several things including better customization of Feedster results.  Some of that's already in so while I'm not "officially" telling you this, you could, for example, add a query variable called imagecells and set it = to 5 to show five cells per row on the images page.  Example.
