Mainichi Daily News: "Gorilla no Hana Kuso (Gorilla Boogers) are small, black and wrinkly objects with a sprinkling of white powder and no particular odor. And, coming in 110-gram bags costing 500 yen apiece, they're selling like hot cakes around Japan's most popular zoo." (from GMSV)

Full of that exhausted, almost weepy gratitude that comes when you finally, after many hours of increasingly desperate attempts, manage to save data that you'd thought you'd lost (note to self: get Norton SystemWorks).  I inadvertantly uninstalled a new version of Outlook, thinking (O fool that I am) that it would revert to the previous version. Of course as soon as I clicked the button onscreen I knew I'd made a dreadful mistake. No prob with XP, though; I'd just use 'system restore' to solve the problem. Except it wouldn't work. Long story made short: I've got a mildly troubled harddrive that is slowly losing bits of programs within the OS (not application data though)  and needs to be looked after by the service people, but haven't been able to get that sorted yet. Ironically I made the service calls Friday before all this happened. So this is top of the agenda for Monday. For some reason, this morning the PC deigned to allow system restore to work and back came my email! Yep, before you ask, everything was already backed up except recent email, thus the crisis, now temporarily solved. I need a swim after all that. Off to the pool for some happy laps (no, that is not an oxymoron if you love swimming!).
