O2 launched an Irish public wireless network this morning, with 12 hotspots around the country. It's targetted at business users, and has a couple of price plans. You can get a voucher for a time block in the wireless zone while there, for an individual session, or you can have a subscription which offers a set of plans -- euro10 monthly or individual session at euro3 for 20 minutes (ouch).

From the press release: "O2's wireless zone is initially available in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway, where O2 has negotiated agreements with the site owners. Dublin sites are located at the Westbury Hotel, Burlington Hotel, Jury's Hotel,Towers Hotel, Bewley's Hotel Ballsbridge and Bewley's Newlands Cross, Shelbourne Hotel, Hilton Dublin Hotel and Heuston Train Station. Other sites are located at the Westwood Hotel, Galway, South Court Hotel,Limerick and Maryborough House Hotel, Cork."
