More lawyer bloggers captured - this time when I reeled in the net there was a law librarian...and with a Radio blog no less (and we all know what that means - XML feed).  So let's hear it for Morgan Wilson - Law Librarian with Hamline Univ. School of Law in St. Paul, MN, who attended law school in Australia (Univ of Tasmania).  Morgan, I assume you've seen Jenny 's site.

Jenny is the one who started this whole lawyer blog scavenger hunt, when she asked if anyone "knew of any great lawyer-ly blogs."  That was back in March.  Remember?

Bill Altreuter Responds to question about consent to tape phone conversations - "NY has a one party consent rule, but it gets complicated, and I've been thinking about writing an article on the subject. Once again, we see the power of the weblog: by writing this post you have, in effect, put out a call for work, which will be a helpful survey on the question. Cool!" Today's understatement of the day - "From an article published in today's edition of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution: 'In appealing its state Senate map to the U.S. Supreme Court, Georgia is laying the groundwork for a potential national precedent.'"

The Radical Center - "Someday, it is reasonable to assume, the digital revolution we are living through will produce a political system all its own."  This sounds interesting.  (Thanks Tory).

Law Blogroll cont'd  - As I said in a post below, the lawyers are starting to check in.  Today I heard from one lawyer who, in the course of his E-mail, offered the following anecdote from law school that I found to be poignant: he said "I once asked someone in law school why he was taking a course called 'Corporate Finance', and he replied he wanted to learn how corporations obtained capital.  I advised him that I also wanted to know that, which is why I was taking 'Criminal Procedure.'"

Anti-spam - Bill Slawski is reporting that "Utah has a new anti-spam law, and it appears that the first case to test it involves a class action suit against Sprint."

Blogspotting - Here's a post from the Volokh Conspiracy.  Apparently, they have uncovered my semi-secret plot to round up the lawyer blogs (actually, it's Denise who started it; I just needed some way to show off Marc Barrot's outline tool - which, sadly for you Blogger guys, is available only to Radio users).  Anyway, it now appears that the word has hit the street so now some of the offenders are starting to self-surrender.  Added to the blog roll are the following people:

  • Seth Farber - a criminal defense attorney with a blog called "the Talking Dog."
  • Damian Penny - a Canadian attorney with a blog called "Daimanation!"
  • Dilan Esper - a practicing attorney in Los Angeles
  • Michelle Boardman - law prof at George Mason, and fourth member of the Volokh Conspiracy (by the way, based on some raw mathematical calculations, scientists are postulating that there may be a fifth member of the Volokh Conspiracy out there...you know sort of like how they found Pluto)

If I have left anyone out, or if my blogroll fails to pay sufficient homage to anyone, let me know and I'll process the paperwork.
