I always look to Dina for innovation in blog use. She is always ahead and often has prefigured what is next in the space. Thanks.

Use of Blogs - Blog Analyses.

I discovered my blog's under scrutiny !.  By the Integral Onion :)

Another wonderful 'use' of blogging as a tool for research and e-learning.

Claude Whitmyer explains :

"I'm taking a class in blogging and was given the assignment of tracking three blogs that were in alignment with the topic of my class blog. I chose creativity and innovation and when I did a search on that, I found your blog. I liked what you had to say in this thread (http://radio.weblogs.com/0121664/2004/02/19.html#a374) and so added that to what I would be tracking.

I'm a member of IWA/HWG (http://www.iwanet.org which is a merger between International Webmaster's Association and HTML Writer's Guild) and the class is part of what they offer for continuing professional education (http://iwa-hwg.eclasses.org).

I thought I'd pick 1) someone I had never heard of who was saying interesting things, 2) a site that had a lot of directly applicable resources, and 3) a thought leader. So, I guess you qualify for number 1.

I found the link to the InnovationTools site on your site and, although I had intended to track Howard anyway, just because he's a much watched thought leader, I got confirmation when I saw him listed in your links as well.

Well, that's basically the story."

I'm going to have to spend some time and evaluate this move by MS. The Visio team at ms was always fun to work with.

Microsoft releases another XML spec. The company hopes to encourage enterprise software makers to tap into its Visio charting tools by releasing its XML schema. [CNET News.com]

They both also points out that it was an elective war and we could have waited and kept containment. How many solders or airmen were we loosing with the no fly zone each day? Those pesky attacks that made it urgent that we attack before the heat of summer or bush 2 was out of office which ever came first.

As Dave and the Generals on NPR note:  the US military is fully deployed in Iraq (which is amazing given that we spend over $700 m a year -- all-in costs -- on the military today).  The only way to increase forces in Iraq now is to eliminate troop rotations.  If you are looking for a reason for why PMC (private military corporations) are being used so extensively in Iraq today (upwards of 20,000 security consultants are in Iraq), this is it.  The number of PMC employees may outnumber uniformed US troops in Iraq within the next two years.

BTW:  In that interview on NPR, General Odem hits the nail on the head:

Odom says the U.S.-led war to oust Saddam Hussein has had the unintended consequence of making Iraq safe for terrorists and other anti-U.S. movements "and they're breeding them rapidly."
