Must listen radio - the Yiddish Radio Project offers a glimpse into a living world on radio stations so weak some couldn't even "broadcast" to their own studios. A pre-internet world of voices suggestive of the Net's self-organizing communities, but with time-varnished texture, like daguerrotypes in sound. (Audio on NPR after 10 p.m.)
