BBC's Digital Asset Management will open the archives to all staff The new One Vision system will cut workflow, reduce asset costs, and allow any Beeb staff access to content or "essence". Most importantly, One Vision goes far beyond the capabilities of the DAM systems that are currently available from several manufacturers. It will fundamentally alter the culture of programme creation by shifting the emphasis in production planning from single features or series – Blue Planet, for example – to multiple productions, all created from the same "essence": Beeb-speak for content.
