Using speech technology from Nuance, E-mail-by-Phone leverages the robust personal information management capabilities of Audiopoint's Voice Terminal product suite. An online interface allows users to create a personal contact manager and establish service preferences and filtering rules to help eliminate spam and junk mail. Once registered, users can retrieve previously unread e-mail and listen to their messages through text-to-speech technology. Users may then respond to messages by sending a personally recorded WAV file attachment.
And they're going to use Erogo software to bill punters for it. Audiopoint: Email-by-Phone and other services.

Nellymoser's Masquerade provides real-time "voice masking capabilities" for online and multiplayer games.
Using the Masquerade software, publishers can create titles where gamers will be able to completely alter the characteristics of their voice to create their own interactive online persona. Within game-play, players will now be able to morph their voices to that of the character they are currently playing
Nellymoser also provide make a voice-to-ringtone generator.

Kansas State University study reveals a key difference in how interface designers think - spatially - and how users think - goal-oriented, says Mark Hurst of Good Experience: Most users simply don't care about where they are in a site, and they don't want to learn. Instead, users just want to advance toward their goal. Trying to teach users how a site is organized is, at best, uninteresting to the user; at worst, distracting. Mitel's mood detection software analyses a caller's emotional state from their voice or DTMF responses, and can route calls to operators trained to handle annoyed customers.

The Center for the Advancement of Health's system calls weight-loss patients and asks them about their habits, and they can reply by pressing numbers on their phone. The system uses the answers to assess their motivation level and suggest a corresponding task or goal.
