context of the history of online publishing, explaining its novelty and
value, and indicating where it needs to innovate. He concludes with a
proposal encouraging publishers to properly embrace the Weblogging
model."
"The blogging phenomenon in perspective" was the topic of a discussion
yesterday in London. Issues and questions: "Are blogs revolutionising journalism, or have people in the traditional
media lost faith in their own authority, leading them to talk blogs up?
Do blogs enhance democracy, or do they make a virtue of narcissism and
navel-gazing?"
