Is there any good reason why C++ can't have a Java / C# compilation model? I fail to understand how dealing with include files makes me a better programmer. (Yes, that's dotty too, but generated via doxygen.)

I recently got some "Feedback" via email for some code I had written over two years ago.

I can't believe that code's been accessed 9215 times. It was "Code of the Day" once; I felt all proud.

http://microsoft.com/usa/webcasts/upcoming/892.asp sounds pretty cool.

It always bothers me when I go to register for something Microsoft-related and they don't use Passport. I'm so lazy.

Some people think that compiling dotty under cygwin isn't that cool.

I respectfully disagree.

I live on the eighth floor. How in the world did ants get all the way up here?

I've got a source code file that's 1233 lines long. Time to refactor.

I compiled dotty under cygwin so I could get the latest version. Unfortunately, its output files (dot -Tps f.dot -o f.ps) have the permissions -rw-rw-rw-. (My C++ program output files are -rwx------.) All it means is that you can't type f.ps in the command prompt (or start f.ps): you get a [misleading] "Access is denied." message. (Opening it with Explorer or from within a program works; it's just missing the FILE_GENERIC_EXECUTE permission.)

Of course, I've spent like 30 minutes messing with this (and however long typing this). Clearly a productive use of my time.

Watched Blind Date again. Basically, after the date, the participants give their impressions. You never see/hear the questions being asked, but it always seems like the guy is asked "Will you ask her out again?" ("I'd definitely ask ____ out again") while the girl is asked "Would you go out with him?" ("If he calls, I'll say no.")

It's a fairly small sample size (n = 4?), admittedly. I just wonder if it's indicative of the contestants' beliefs about male/female roles, or if the show producers are asking the leading questions.
