My dad has a new genealogical theory about his family: they were Melungeon. This is somewhat interesting because I never really knew much about my background: it was always "English\Wales" and that was about it... My dad's grandmother was named Zenobia Lawson; she married Bramwell Lambert (what cool names!). She was from Appalachia, and, sure enough, Lawson is one of the most common Melungeon surnames. (Yes, yes, it's all a rich tapestry.)

This is also interesting because might explain why my hair is blacker and more coarse than almost everyone else I know, and why I have a golf-ball sized bump on the back of my head.

In his "red pill" post, Robert Scoble said, "By the way, if you're gonna be developing software in the second half of the decade, you really need to be at the PDC."

This sounds like hyperbole, but it actually isn't... I work at Microsoft and I'm even thinking about taking vacation time to go.
