A fraternity at the University of Tennessee has been suspended after several of its members dressed up as the Jackson Five for Halloween [Knox News].

A number of black students complained to campus officials last week after a group of fraternity members allegedly walked from their fraternity house to a party on the Cumberland Avenue Strip dressed as the Jackson siblings, according to UT's account.

This sounds like a case of over sensitivity, lack of a sense of humor (on the part of those who complained) and politcal correctness run amok. It's Halloween for heck sake! What could be scarier than the Jackson Five?

Google Labs is working on an online glossary that gives definitions for words obtained from sources on the Net [Google Glossary]. The words that I looked up returned some very relevant results. Just one more way that Google is trying to improve searches and organization of the huge Internet knowledge base.

Salman Rushdie gives "a liberal argument for regime change" in Iraq [Washington Post]. His views reflect my own almost point for point. However, he states them much more clearly.
