This is sick (in a good way). Hitachi will soon release a 7200rpm, 400GB harddrive [ArsTechnica]. Stop the madness! But seriously, the availability of cheap storage is soon going to trigger a shift and the kinds of data we use and how we use it. Many assumptions built into current operating systems and especially applications will become obsolete as available storage space continues to outpace how we use that space. Applications that help manage that vast amount of data will emerge and we will start storing more pictures, video and audio than ever before. 12:53:18 PM  permalink  comment []
