Interesting collection of statistics from 100 years ago [LibertyPost][via ArsTechnica]. Here are some highlights:

  • a mechanical engineer about $5,000/year
  • Canada passed a law prohibiting POOR people from entering the country for any reason
  • One in ten US adults couldn't read or write
  • Marijuana, heroin and morphine were all available over the counter at corner drugstores

Canada still doesn't let drunks cross the border (if they've been convicted of a DUI) and 3% of U.S. adults still can't read. 7:32:52 PM  permalink  comment []

I've always said that if all of my friends had weblogs, that I would read them every day. Unfortunately, few of my friends have weblogs, but I do read the ones that do. I must admit, however, that I don't read them every day. Fortunately for me, they don't write in them every day either.

Currently three of my collegues at Loudeye have weblogs. Hopefully this number will continue to grow. Here are their weblogs:

Enjoy. I also keep this linked on my navigator bar, so you can always come back to this weblog if you need to find the links. 7:04:39 PM  permalink  comment []
