The other night I watched a fascinating program on PBS called "Secrets of the Dead". It was the story of the Scott expedition to Antarctica during which all 5 members of the team died, including Scott himself. They hiked for 3 weeks in tempuratures below -30F. After I saw that I said, "you know.. its really not that cold out!". Yet here I am trying to motivate myself for my workout, which calls for 2 hours on the bike. And I just looked up the current temp and its -2F. I did 90 minutes on the rollers yesterday and I went nutty. How am I going to do 2 hours indoors? Never having tried to train this hard in the winter, I'm wondering how to get through it all. Although those who know me well think I'm insane, I'm not nearly as hardcore as some people!
