Remember how much it sucked in the days of modems? You couldn't use the phone and read your email at the same time? Along came DSL and life was good for me. Then we went wireless at work so I splurged and went wireless at home! Sweet! - I'm sitting in bed or in the backyard, surfing happily away, downloading trailers for Lord of the Rings and good stuff like that. Wow, I thought, this is so good with my laptop, I should remove the tether on the phone system too and get one of those nifty cordless phones. Got a good one with a nice long range. But suddenly I'm back to the bad old days of not being able to use the internet and the phone at the same time! My phone clobbers my 802.11b connection. I've got a Linksys BEFW11S4 and a Panasonic phone - can't figure out how to make them coexist. Too much of a good thing? Any useful advise out there?
Update: A quick search at Linksys revealed this document, which unfortunately looks like it won't help me! Bummer. Will keep trying though.. ok changing the channel on the Linksys seems to have worked! All better.

I just confirmed a suspicion with the MS Remote Desktop Client. When I connect to my home computer, the monitor comes out of sleep mode and stays that way while I'm connected. Not a big deal, except that I like to save energy whenever possible. I've gotten used to letting the monitor shut itself off - now I'm going to have to remember to shut it off manually when I leave because I tend to have RDC tethered back to the mothership whenever I can. And now that I found this little gem, I'm not going to mess with VirtualPC anymore!
