I'm not the target audience of these pictures, but they creep me out. There is a fine line between saintliness and idolitry. While many people may be happy to believe that Bush is a man of God, there may be some who don't believe that Bush is God. These are NOT humble pictures at all. Interestingly, the top "halo" photo, aside from the halo, has a pretty menacing demeanor.
Bush isn't looking down humbly - he's glowering under his brow... as if he's presently going to raise his clawlike hands and cast Luke Skywalker into the abyss with lightning bolts from his fingertips.
During Bush's first term, he was to appear at Eisenhower Park in Nassau Country. The White House sent down through the Secret Service orders to the park workers:
"The president's feet are not to touch the dirt."
He doesn't want his feet on the ground and he was attending a groundbreaking ceremony. There's something VERY strange and disturbing about this that you may not realize: It's messianic. The exact same thing is said of Christ's return in Jerusalem until certain prophecies are fulfilled. Given this guy's obvious God-complex, I find this disturbingly meaningful.
During the first Roadmap to peace in the Middle East, Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas had an amazing quote from a conversation with George Bush:
"God told me to strike at al-Qaida and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East. If you help me I will act, and if not, the elections will come and I will have to focus on them."
It is scarey that George Bush may believe he is leading the USA based on divine guidance. Others have been lead by God as well...did Allah tell al-Qaida to attack us on 9/11.
On March 11, Bush addressed the National Association of Evangelicals with:
"America is a nation called with a mission, We're called to fight terrorism around the world. As freedom's defender, we are called, we are called to expand the realm of human liberty...Yet I know that liberty is not America's gift to the world -- liberty and freedom are God's gift to every man and women who lives in the world."
Follow W's logic: If God's gift is liberty, AND if Bush has liberated millions, THEN Bush is God's delivery boy. The planet is placed in a dangerous situation when any world leader proceeds under the conviction that whatever he is doing he is fulfilling God's will. Have a Happy Easter, folks.

UPDATE: These pictures are NOT photoshopped, they are very carefully stage managed like the "Mission Accomplished" ship photo that everybody has seen. To see these and many other similar shots, click on Bush halo pictures.
