What is really going on beneath the surface? What is the nature of the bifurcation that is unfolding? That's what interests me.

HERE'S AN INTERESTING POST by Trent Telenko on the political fallout from SARS in China. ... [Instapundit.com]

Please scroll down after the main post as the comments are even more disturbing. This is the type of "Interesting" meant by the term (Chinese I think) May you live in "Interesting Times" - not a well wishing remark. In essence Trent is wondering how big it really is in China - maybe several hundred thousand plus. Many posters add how impossible it will be for China to get control as their hygiene habits (the dreaded hospital visit comment) are so underdeveloped. Many have been saying that SARS is merely a storm in teapot - after all very few have died yet. But this article reminds us that it is early days. Exponential curves start shallow. When they tip they go. If nothing was done in Beijing for a month then it is likely that we will see an explosion soon.
