What is really going on beneath the surface? What is the nature of the bifurcation that is unfolding? That's what interests me.

iTunes store: More than 1 million sold. Apple's new online music store sold more than 1 million songs during its first week of operation, and analysts say it shows people will pay for downloads if given the chance. [CNET News.com]

The law of large numbers - in networks the key is to get volume. free = most volume but 99 cents is close to free and payment systems like Pay Pal help. A million hits a day for a year is 360 million. Physical Distribution costs = nil. Inventory cost = nil. Staffig costs = close to nil. If the curve works you might do many million a day while your bandwitsh costs go up none of your other costs do so you still get get ROI.

Very light blogging from me this week. Off to Montreal tomorrow and then on to Fredericton. To think I used to travel the world!
