Tonight, I wore my tuxedo for the first time in probably over two years. Most times, after such a long absence, I find some archaeological evidence of my previous event. Which must have been something Zoo related. It was wonderful to see some of my previous prospects, so much that it makes me want to get quickly to a place where I can afford to give at the Marlin Perkins Society level just to be able to hang with them. I have to say that I find great satisfaction in knowing that three of a handful of over $1 million donors were my work, and a ton of $250k donors, some of which took some additional cultivation after I left. But it all adds up. For the first time in my adult life, post college, something actually expanded in my closet instead of shrinking. That was cool. That tux never fit before tonight, and tonight it was gloriously draped. This gives me new confidence in getting clients and building long-term relationships. It's what I'm good at..
