The rain was coming down in soft sheets. Like liquid cotton flannel, so much so that I couldn't run from Schnucks to my car - I almost wanted to curl up and go to sleep in the sprinkle.
What an amazing phenomenon, to even be aware of that cosmic event. Rain. Even if it is just layers upon layers of stimulus/response, coded over eons and eons.
I wonder what the experience was like for protozoa, ages ago, if they had homes to slip into, hearths waiting, of sorts. Or if our awareness is beyond, in another dimension of mind. I wonder what the experience must be like for some sentient being beyond, taking in the sheets of galactic dust, moving seemlessly, taking off her raincoat, letting slip through the cracks what we call space and time.
