Another aspect of 28 Days After I forgot to mention is that the best way to outdo iconic genre filmakers, as, in this case, Romero, with his Night, Dawn, Day of the Living Day series, is to underdo. Be more subtle. Be more focused on the story, less on the gore. Make a nod here and there so some in the audience can feel like clever insiders, but don't duplicate. My hope, with movies like this, is that studio execs will see that yes, we can take some tried and true story lines and make NEW movies with them, instead of repeating the classics with todays latest stars, todays latest technologies. 3:30:02 PM
