I think I understand now. The appeal of computer games. They give you the same rush of accomplishment you would get actively pursuing game oriented goals. Without actually doing anything. It's as if the same incredible cortexes that came up with the games and the computers and the math and the art could only figure out how to stimulate, ultimately, the limbic brain. Punching into some primitive sense of pleasure and pain, one without any context of time or space relative to now.
Driving home, I was thinking of Dr. Orimenko saying that I shouldn't have to do the candida fast ever again, with some authority. As if with suggestion. And I thought how strange it is to bring hypnosis, suggestion into play in healing situations, that the power of suggestion would have any impact on actual physical health. And I wondered if the candida fast had worked because of the chemical chemical process of cleansing or the brain chemical response to the suggestion the cleansing worked.
Then I thought how strange it would be if western medicine was actually simply taking different paths to trigger a brain chemical response to healing, or if it is depriving the healer within. As if, within each of us, there are healers that can protect us, when properly called.
And what impact that would have on the human race, if, by saving people who might otherwise no longer be able to muster the healer within, we are creating, evolutionary cycle by evolutionary cycle, humans that are weaker, reliant on outside strength for healing.
And what if healers and exorcists and shamans are all just calling on the same life force. The same life force that is perhaps in ongoing struggle with the evolving deadening industrialized world. Maybe dancing with right now, even, trying to ride out its destructive path. It may not even be in opposition to the life force - just a tool for it, to create new growth, perhaps the same way getting wiped out during various epochs has continued our own painful human evolution. Perhaps we are just part of the same life force that persists through what we experience as time, maybe, as with my notions of the myceneum, given special license to attempt to conceptualize our experience of that portion of the universe as a measurable quanta of time within the web of infinite time, within finite space of infinity. Almost as a performance art piece.
