I was listening yesterday to remeberances of Paul Simon, many of whom
talked about how it was rare to have a politician with his integrity,
which is what everyone always says about every politician,
individually, even some of the ones we've sent to prison for their
misdeeds. But the system is fundamentally broken, which is a lot harder
for people to get their brains around.
I've been thinking more and more lately about the idea of cabalists,
and how it may not be so crazy afterall to think that there are small
pockets of sustained resistance to fundamental democracy, and that
those folks are bit by bit eroding democratic freedoms to return us to
a more feudalistic society - which might, of course, include God's
kingdom.
