Coble Calls Muller
Eric Muller: "I was sitting here at my desk this morning when the phone rang. It was Representative Howard Coble, responding to the letter I sent him a month ago..."
Muller details their conversation, pinpoints their differences, and makes it clear where Coble is wrong on his history. It's a great article and should move this story toward resolution.
It's also an interesting moment in the history of weblog journalism--Muller is really advancing the cause. When Coble called me this summer to discuss our differences on P2P piracy enforcement, he was responding to both a constituent and a print journalist. This time he's acknowledging a journalist who works only by weblog.
Props to Howard Coble for making the personal call. He really is a decent man, and that makes it all the more frustrating when he won't budge on this misstatment of facts--he has the goodwill to get the benefit of the doubt if he would admit his mistake.
