Doh!
April Fools Day reports that Matt Doherty has been fired at UNC seem to be giving way to serious versions of the same news.
I hear from a lot of people that this isn't about wins and losses, but at some level it has to be. If this is true, one of college sports' purest programs is revealed to be another booster-dominated boys club, not so much different from an SEC football team or any of the other programs we Carolina fans have looked at with scorn over the years. Doherty saved us when we couldn't hire a coach three years ago. He was a member of the "family." Nice. Unless Roy Williams or Larry Brown is already set to come in, this could be a disaster.

The Internet Goes to War
Writing a front-pager for the News & Record's Sunday op-ed section on the role of the Internet in covering the war. My goal is to go beyond the insta-cliche that if the last Gulf War was the cable news war, then this one is the Internet war.
