The News & Record runs a decent feature (not posted) on weblogs, with quotes from Dave Winer, Glenn Reynolds, and Eric Muller. It avoids some cliches (weblogs vs. journalism!) but reads like it sat on the shelf for a long time--Dave is still in California and the war in Iraq is hardly mentioned. And in the print edition that landed in my driveway, the story doesn't end, just cuts off in mid-sentence.
Journalism question: Should the article have noted that I've been covering weblogs for a year or so in the same paper, including last May's intro to the topic, the Tara Grubb saga, and a column on a specific topic like the Muller-Coble duel that is rehashed in today's piece? Oh well, they did include my weblog on their list of local bloggers--although they identified me as a freelance writer, which I haven't been since 1999.
