I had hopes for this morning’s NYT article about I-85 being the main street of the “New South,” even though it would have been more accurate to call it the main street of the Piedmont, but it turned out to be just another person discovering the Peachoid, the vaguely obscene peach-shaped water tower in Gaffney, SC. A wasted opportunity.

Doc is getting some pushback on his pushback against the NYT information-addiction piece. I agree with Doc’s correspondents. It’s not bashing the Web to point out its possible side effects, it’s just acknowledging the power of the medium. The blogosphere is crowded with data junkies. I have to fight to control my jones.
