•••Into Reflection and Into Action

Some days are mainly "into action" days. Heaven knows, as do most of my readers, that I value and thrive on what might be called "into reflection" days: days of study and prayer and meditation. Such days rejuvinate me so I can go back out "into the fray."

My fray is that "real world" where 9 of the 10 people around me do not believe anything near what I believe about God or live their lives the way I try to live mine. Rather, a goodly share of the people I meet lead lives that even the most non-judgmental, tolerant and philosophically undefined and relativistic person in the world would have to best describe as self-destructive.

Some of that destructive behavior is directed at others, too.

I go into action with the sighted faith that as a human being I have something worthwhile to offer and give others, some abilities and skills which can be applied to serve and assist even self-destructive people. A pastor I know always spoke these words when we'd part ways, "It's my job to make your life simpler and easier." It was a motto he put into practice well.

Today was an into action day, from sunup to sundown. Tomorrow will be too. Normally, kind readers, you experience me in a more "into reflection" mode. Then I disappear for days at a time from the blog here and I'm out and about, listening to real people, talking about real problems, and working together with them toward real solutions.
