My goal for the month of November is to not eat out the entire month.  That means no buying treats, no buying coffee, no $15 sushi platters for lunch, no cokes, no beers.

Day 1:  Brought my lunch to work for the first time in weeks.  Arrived too late to take part in Friday donuts or that could have ended my trip real quick.

Day 2:  Hid in car and pigged out on my kids halloween candy

Day 3:  Donuts after church:  Took some without paying.  Went back for seconds.  The rule is no buying treats.

Day 4:  I tell my boss about this and he buys me a cookie.  Isn't that great?

I read A Beautiful Mind this weekend.  Wonderful book.  Sylvia Nasar writes beautifully and her subject is true freak of nature, pulling novel theorems out of the air as if they were passed to him by extra-dimensional aliens.  Haven't seen the movie yet, but I can't imagine it captures the depth of his achievements or of his anti-social nature.  I will have to make a list of good math history books.  So far I have this and Fermat's Enigma, which is also a great read.

Swim practice this morning was as many 100 meter Freestyles as you could do on an ever decreasing interval starting at 2:10.  I did 11 which meant I did the last one on 1:20.  I love those kind of sets that see who will be the last survivor.  It wasn't me.  It was some asshole in lane 1.  He did 13 100s.
