Prestobath gave us a great deal and even threw in the repair of an outside faucet .  They are great workers and flexible and skilled enough to handle whatever strange stuff a basement throws at them.   When they jackhammered our basement floor this morning, they were suprised to see that the ground was more than a foot beneath the concrete.  They had never encountered this before.  The earth had settled.  The floor is built of reinforced concrete so it doesn't cave in, meaning that whoever built the house anticipated the problem.  Our entire neighborhood has this loose fill feature and patios and driveways shift about and sink.  The house itself does not appear to be sinking and is  supported by pylons planted deep in the ground.   Prestobath brought in a load of rocks to place under the floor to support the pipes they put in and the patch they applied to the floor while it dries.  It shouldn't matter if the ground sinks further because the patch is small and the pipes are supported by other means.  The rocks are just needed while the thing dries.   Their pledge is "You're flushing by 4:00 pm on the second day."  On the evening of the first day, I do not see any reason to doubt this at this point.  They even dealt with our backed up sewage line by calling in a service and having it snaked.   We did pay for that part of it.  We are also responsible for hauling away the waste.  (set tub, broken concrete, etc.)
