Kind Productions / Club Freedom - Tempe, AZ
Hello Everyone,

We are sad to announce that on Friday, May 28th, Kind will produce it's last show and on Monday, May 31st, Club Freedom will close it's doors permanently.

On behalf of Steve Kushnir - DOC Productions, Jas Tynan - Groovetribe and the Club Freedom staff we want to thank everyone who has helped create and support Kind and Freedom nightclub. Each and every one of you has kept us thriving these past six years and have provided such great memories to take with us. This marks the end of chapter for us, but also the beginning of a new one, and we hope you join us in creating a new future.

We are dedicating this last month to all the smiling faces, sore feet, laughter and tears and to the loved ones we have lost along the way - Amy Kushnir, Mike McGarey and Christopher Harvey  - you will always be loved, never be forgotten.

< KIND MEMORIES >

"My most fond memories of Kind must be seeing a crowded dancefloor ready to explode with energy, the lights and smoke anticipating the breakdown of the music, the sound thumping like no other system on the west coast, and knowing my sister was watching my money at the door." - Steve Kushnir (Co-Creator - Kind/DOC Productions & Owner - Club Freedom)

"My favorite thing about kind was always the people. Regular cats like you & me, letting loose together and leaving their troubles behind." - Jas Tynan (Co-creator - Kind / Groovetribe)

"I would have to say my fondest memory of Kind was the production of the night, the anticipation, arriving at the venue, waving to Amy in the cashier booth, saying hi to everyone and then watching the crowd scream as the artist walked on stage to start his/her performance. There truly is nothing like seeing something you have worked so hard for appreciated on the faces of everyone smiling." - Nikki Solgot (Jill of all trades)

"The 2nd time we brought Oakenfold out and the a/c wasn't working and it was 110 degrees and packed to the rim with people dancing on every surface they could find." - Ryan Kibner (Co-producer/venue manager and long time friend)

"When Kind was still in its early stages Steve and Jas convinced  Sasha to come over from England to play a set. When the day of the event arrived the show was close to sold out and people were already showing up at Freedom by 7pm. The only problem was Sasha had missed his flight from London. Steve and Jas got John Digweed's number and called him to ask if there was any chance he could make it, he said " I just happen to be connecting through the airport in Phoenix right now, I'll be happy to come over and play". I'll never forget the look on the Steve and Jas' face when they had to go outside and tell 1000 people that Sasha was not showing up (and hearing the near mutiny) and then hearing the cheers when they told everybody that Digweed had agreed to fill in for him." - Nate Bratlie (Club Freedom Bar Manager & New Daddy *CONGRATS!)

"Nothing beats the warm response when you get to the turntables at Kind Fridays." - Nigel Richards

"I have so many good memories from playing at kind that is very hard to choose just one. the first time I played there was definitely one of the most exciting. The place was packed, the sound was cranked and people were having a great time. It went down as one of my favorite shows of all time. Kind has always been one of my top 3 places to play in my travels as well. It will sorely missed." - Dieselboy

"Kind Fridays will be missed! It's Turbo Sound System, Spacious DJ Booth, Energetic crowds and great employees all combined for a excellent clubbing experience." - DJ Icey

"Kind Fridays - one of the originators in the AZ scene, focused on bringing in the best talent and was all about the music. I'll never forget the one night I played there and the owner jumped up on the speakers and started go-go dancing to my set... For a dancer, he wasn't a bad club owner.  Kind, thanks for the good times, and the great memories..." - Bad Boy Bill

"I'm sad to see its over, the energy of this place was special...and the shopping was great!" - DJ Rap

"A refreshing oasis in a desert of music culture. Some great times with great people. For me I remember the New Years Millennium event which was one of the best parties on the continent. Good luck to everyone in whatever they go on to do and all the best." - John Acquaviva

Thank you again for your continual support.

Hong Kong Nights at the Digital Tavern
Hong Kong Nights. The good thing about traveling west from California is arriving in the evening with just a few hours of exploring then falling into bed. It's a sure cure of any jet lag issues. So waking up yesterday at 6am was easy and I felt completely refreshed.

Last night is another story. As dinner guests with a group of Taiwanese and a frenchman I was surprised as we sat down at the huge... [for the sake of clarity - The Digital Tavern]
