Les Journées de la culture : les vendredi 24, samedi 25 et dimanche 26 septembre, la population est invitée à passer « Trois grosses journées » et à découvrir l'univers fascinant des artistes, des artisans et des travailleurs culturels. Ils sont en effet 934 organisations à préparer ces trois journées dans tout le Québec et à présenter la culture dans tous ses états!

Vanier: la victoire de la haine, une analyse de Daniel Lessard :

Je connais un peu la circonscription de Vanier. En fait, j'y suis né. Et puis j'y ai grandi. Et toute ma famille y vit encore.

Vous ne trouverez pas de ministres chez les résidants de Vanier. Pas davantage de hauts fonctionnaires, de juges ni de magnats des affaires. D'une génération à l'autre, on s'y passe les petits boulots, des emplois précaires dans les manufactures ou les magasins. On chôme aussi. Les plus chanceux décrochent un emploi «au gouvernement», comme on dit. Ceux-là migrent vite vers des banlieues plus souriantes.

Vanier, pour un Montréalais, c'est, disons... Saint-Henri, moins les «ethniques». La circonscription est à 97 % francophone.

Un terreau fertile pour les semeurs de haine. Ceux qui nourrissent la rancoeur entre le «monde ordinaire» et... tous les autres: les dirigeants, les notables, les politiciens surtout. Plus généralement, entre les riches et les pauvres.

Cinema Minima Correspondents
Cinema Minima Correspondents. Mike Atherton, a journalist in London, has been accredited by the Times/bfi 48th London International Film Festival to cover the Festival as Cinema Minima's Correspondent. He will cover the Raindance Film Festival, too.

Jeremy Berger, a Cinema Minima Correspondent in New York, has been accredited as a member of the Press by the New York Film Festival, which he will cover for Cinema Minima.

Daniel Camargo, a writer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will cover the Festival do Rio as Cinema Minima's Correspondent.

Brandon Chalk has filed a score of reviews of films whose screenings he attended at the Copenhagen International Film Festival as Cinema Minima's Correspondent.

Screenwriter David C. Daniel has interviewed Mr. John Sinno of Arab Film Distribution, in connection with "The Arab Street" a program of shorts which had been exhibited at the Reel 1 Film Festival in Seattle.

Fernanda Guerra Gil, a journalist in São Paulo Brazil, will cover the São Paulo Paulo International Film Festival as Cinema Minima's Correspondent.

Cyndi Greening, a film professor at Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona USA, will cover the Sundance Film Festival as Cinema Minima's Correspondent.
