Quantum-Dot Charge Qubit
Breakthrough in Development of Quantum Computers. A Hitachi-Cambridge team develops a new silicon qubitHitachi Europe Ltd. announced today that a Hitachi-Cambridge team has developed a new silicon device for quantum computing: a quantum-dot charge qubit. This structure, based on years of work on single-electronics, is the first step in the development of a quantum computer based on conventional silicon technology. [Physics Org]
