The Fictional World of Lindsey Gemme...
The colors were dull and expired. How could she possibly look at them now with the same tender love and admiration as she did only months before?
It was humiliating. Yet, there was a grace in their graveness. Perhaps they had always been so, but the excitement of her youth had made them invigoratingly strong and intoxicating. Perhaps she had just "grown up." It had been known to happen.
She took the coarse cloth between her fingers. Evenings' sun drops chased across her hands - the hands of a woman. She pressed her lips together, and somberly shut off the light.
