Corrected link
Here's the corrected link to the Rod Dreher's NPR essay that was mentioned in the recent Mathew Gross post.
Mediaburn's editor would add that 'Generation X' is not as simply defined as in this audio essay; that's why the group is named after the X factor - variable, complex.
The editor of Mediaburn is a Generation Xer, though a little younger than Rod Dreher, and had a differing view of the world growing up. For example, it would be hard to say we, as a generation, were gung ho for Republicans during the 1990's, or that we supported the Invasion of Iraq in 2003. The First Iraq War in the early 90's was in fact, very unpopular.
Generation X also helped kick a man out of Washington D.C. in 1992. His name was George H.W. Bush.
