Gideon at 40 . . . A Look at the Right to Counsel

A project of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, "Gideon at 40; Fulfilling the Promise" is a celebration of the 40th anniversary of Gideon v. Wainwright, the landmark Supreme Court Decision holding that indigent defendants have a right to Court appointed counsel.
