Apparently Judicial System Worker Doesn't Understand Justice . . .

Pepperoni pizza. Pepperoni pizza: A reader who works within the State of California's judicial system has emailed, in response to my recent blog posts here and here about a California man sentenced to twenty-five years to life under that State's "Three Strikes" law for stealing a slice of pepperoni pizza, to say:I always love it (not) when people bring up the case of poor Mr. [How Appealing]

As a parent I understand where this California employee is coming from, but (1) I don't feel very sorry for the "scared" kids who were brave enough to refuse to share their pizza with those who claimed hunger, and (2) a sentence of 25 years to life can NEVER be just where the immediate offense is either scaring kids or stealing their pizza.

But once again, I am making my bleeding-heart liberal leanings all to clear I suppose.

And another question for the Cal employee, how would you feel if the man sentenced were your child???
