Friday Notes 2.
An on-line resource for NEILSA Librarians
The NEILSA staff
and Trustees
Wish you a very
joyous holiday season.
Our Quote - damned with faint phase (sic)

"Libraries are not safe places, the reason for that is there are ideas
to be found."

Colorado Mom Vows to Picket over It's Perfectly Normal
DEADLINES & DATES:
I'll try to list all the upcoming dates of importance here, you will have
to mine for the details.

Christmas - 12/24-28/2003 Wednesday to the weekend
New Years day
VAN SERVICE:
AEA 1 (Keystone), will resume regular delivery on Monday, Jan. 5, 2004.
AEA 267, will resume regular delivery on Monday, Jan. 5, 2004.
REMINDER: This would be a good time to send your AEA a note of thanks for
this service, and to let them know what it means to your library. A
carbon copy to your legislators would not hurt either. The van
deliver of ILL materials is an example of interagency cooperation [AEAs,
LSA & local school/library] that does not show up on legislative windshields
at budget cutting time except as a dead bug after it has been killed by the
legislative ax.

CE: xx "End Plate"
CE credit for self study of the Gates 30 Lesson
books.
According to the manual, each lesson takes approximately 55 minutes to complete.
Assuming these are not part of an Individualized Continuing Education Plan,
probably the easiest way to
award credit would be to have them compete a Learning Activity Written Summary
for each lesson, submit it to me and I'll award the credit.
