So I have my first asp.Net page up.  Not that it does a damn thing but it's nice to sort of feel like I'm making progress.  Also wrote several stored procs yesterday to make data transformation in the football pool much easier.  I wish I felt like I had become a better programmer in 2 years but it seems like I just haven't done enough to get any better.

Working on that now but it's such a slow process.  I guess you just have to do it for so long that it becomes natural.  I feel like it's similar to learning a natural language, if you only do it sporadically, you never get any better.. . .

When did we start lying? It seems to me and there's plenty of sociological research on this to back me up that we've always been lying. We lie mostly when it suits our purpose, either to save our own ass, get ahead or look important.

In fact, in this month's journal Basic and Applied Social Psychology, there's a study on lying and how often we do it. It happens a surprising amount in our day-to-day life and many times, we don't even realize how much we're doing it.

It's especially interesting to think about in this current atmosphere of discovering people who lie on their resumes for high profile jobs and then get found out.

I believe that lying is a part of human nature and comes along with our consciousness of other people's feelings.
