This is why we can't possibly expect peace in the Middle East until Hamas is taken out of the equation in the only way they understand--violence. . .I fully support Israel's actions to target Hamas leaders, political or military. . .when a group actively targets civilians, I think all bets are off. . .

It's interesting that the word "terror" or "terrorist" doesn't show up until the second page. . .and then this:

State Department spokesman Richard Boucher emphasized ``the urgency with which the Palestinian Authority needs to take immediate and effective steps to dismantle and disarm the terrorist capabilities."

quote is surprising in that I thought everyone knew the Palestinian Authority at least implicitly supports the terrorism going on in Israel. . .the PA, which Arafat leads, is hardly interested in closing down the terrorists. . .

And then we have the new PM for Palestine here:

Ahmed Qureia, whom Arafat has asked to become the new Palestinian prime minister, expressed ``our regrets and pain for the innocent lives (lost) as a result of violence and counter-violence'' and called on Israeli leaders to ``search for ways to end this killing.''

and you have to wonder how one could be intellectually honest and say the Israeli leaders need to search for a way to end the killing when your own people just carried out the current terrorist attack. . .

But then intellectual honesty isn't something terrorists are known for. . .

A good article on how Bush ought to be handling the situation in Iraq. . .it's not often that I agree with Slate but Saletan writes good stuff and his view on Iraq is almost identical to mine, I'm just not sure I could have put it so well. . .

We had a job to do that the international community was unwilling to do. . .to continue to play the WMD card when nothing is showing up seems to weaken our hand. . .

Yeah it's official, I've lost all writing talent. . .

I'm not sure if anything I post is currently making it to the web. . .but this is funny and worth reading. . .
