Gettin' ready to venture to Ireland in June.....dusting off the old mandolin (a sweet 1932 Martin that I ended up busting through carelessness and have since gotten fixed) and head to the birthplace of all things poetic. Thank God they exported it. Did you know while four million Irish people live in Ireland, another forty million live throughout the world....well anyway I have some things to discuss with Bono, not to mention my first REAL pint of Guiness.....possibly the best drink on the planet....when our solar system becomes united I am confident the alcoholic beverage representing us will be Guiness...I guess I should wait till I taste the real thing so that when it is time to cast my vote I can do so with some real knowledge of the situation. Tomarrow I will travel to Hopland (find it on the map) and play at the Hopland brewery (the first brewery to open since prohibition in Mendocino county) to celebrate their newest beer...I'm taking my grandmother, Olivia Garbini, (first woman pilot to fly solo on the Mendocino coast in 1949-try to top that) and she will undoubtedly snoop all around the town while I play with my friend Mark Hansen as many rollicking tunes as we can come up with.....them revelers need music and I'm here to provide the sound track of sorts to their benevolent mayhem....
